Job summary
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Nurse Acute Oncology to join the AOS Team at the Trust.
AOS plays a vital role in supporting patients who present acutely with cancer-related complications or toxicities of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT). As an Acute Oncology CNS, you will be at the forefront of delivering specialist care, providing expert assessment, triage and management for patients presenting through Emergency Department, AMU and inpatient wards.
Working as part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team, you will operate as an autonomous practitioner, undertaking advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. You will play a key role in ensuring patients receive timely, safe and effective care, supporting early intervention, improving patient outcomes and reducing avoidable hospital admissions and length of stay.
This is a highly rewarding role in a developing and forward-thinking service, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to service improvement, support new models of care and enhance the patient journey across acute oncology pathways. In addition to delivering high-quality clinical care, you will provide specialist advice and support to staff across the Trust and contribute to education, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
You will be part of a team that is committed to delivering responsive, patient-centred care in a fast-paced evolving environment.
